We look forward to seeing you

On a very rainy Saturday, September 23, 2023, the Fredericksburg Area Sickle Cell Association held its annual walk-a-thon. The walk-a-thon is both a fun event for participants and a great way to provide critical financial support for FASCA’s important work in the community. You can read an informational letter about the 2023 walk-a-thon by clicking here. You can download a registration form for participants by clicking here. You can download a waiver permission form by clicking here. Or you can make a direct financial contribution in support of the walk-a-thon by clicking here. Many thanks to all who contributed in any way!

On Saturday, November 12, 2022, the Fredericksburg Area Sickle Cell Association celebrated its 50th anniversary of service to the community. A great crowd gathered for this festive affair. (To view and/or print the FASCA flyer about the celebration, click here.)

If you’ve made a current membership contribution, we also invite you to join us at any or all of our regular monthly meetings. These meetings are at 7:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month, except not during August, November, or December. The meetings are held at the Emmanuel AME Church, 250 Chatham Heights Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22405.

We normally have a walk-a-thon each year. And we invite you to participate as a walk or as a donor. Our walk-a-thons are both fun and educational — and a great way to help raise much needed funds for FASCA’s important work in the community. A flyer about the 2022 walk-a-thon is available by clicking here. For information on future walk-a-thons, you can send an email to fasca3275@gmail.com or you can call 540-371-2923.

FASCA participates in health fairs in various locations throughout the year. Watch for announcements here or on local media.

FASCA normally sponsors a “family and friends fellowship” each autumn. The program typically includes an informative or inspirational speaker, the presentation of awards and honors, and a chance to interact with others who share you concern for those who are living with sickle cell disease.

Other events are scheduled from time to time. Watch for announcements here or in local media.
